Sunday the LORD spoke to us concerning four lessons that we are to learn from His heart, the Scriptures. The first lesson from vs. 10 was that we need to know who we are. It is a fact and can be proved by actions that most Christians don’t know who they are and what they have. Jesus said to the woman "If you knew the Gift of God and who it is that saith to thee. . ." Jesus knew who He was and what He had to give to that woman and us. The LORD wants us to know who we are and what we have to give to those in need of salvation. He showed us from Galatians 2:20 that we are dead yet still live but it is not us but He that lives in us. Those who are born again are the temple of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. Remember what John the Baptist said in 3:30 He (Jesus) must increase and I (John the Baptist) must decrease. The LORD wants to live through us to continue carrying out His ministry. This is our purpose as the Church, to MAKE READY A PEOPLE READY FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD JESUS Luke 1:17. This is the heart of the LORD that we would hear what He is saying and do it that He may continue the Gospel ministry through us.

The second lesson was in vss. 11-14 Satisfaction/fulfillment is not found in the physical. We buy things, eat things, drink things and do things hoping they will satisfy but it is only temporary as Jesus told the woman, "Whosoever drinks this (physical) water shall thirst again." Only those things given to us by God in the Grace of Jesus Christ will satisfy and fulfill forever. This is why the Scripture says in Colossians 3:1-3 (Paraphrase) Seek those things that are in heaven not in earth. Set your affections on things in heaven, not things in earth. Hear what the LORD is saying and receive that source (Well) from God within you and be continually fulfilled and satisfied.

The third lesson was in vss. 15-24. Worship is not physical. Jesus told the woman that true worship was not in geographical location or buildings but true worship was given by the heart in the Spirit. The word worship is defined by scripture in Matthew 28:9 the women fell down and kissed and held on to the feet of Jesus. See also Luke 7:38, 45. See the true way of worship. The LORD asks us the question, "Are you worshipping me? Is your heart falling down before me in adoration as my Word reveals?" Hear what the LORD is saying and repent and worship Him with your spirit.

The fourth lesson is vss. 25, 26. The LORD wants us to go from a physical relationship of seeing with the physical eye writings about Him and hearing by the physical hear preaching about Him, to a spiritual relationship as Job said in Job 42:5 "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but know mine eye seeth thee. . ." Job did not see the LORD by his eyes but by his "eye" referring to the "Eye of the mind," by faith. Jesus said in Jonn14:16, 17 that He would send the Spirit that we would know of Him. When Jesus revealed Himself to her she knew Him spirit to Spirit, this is the relationship that the LORD wants with us.
